Hello all
We have got a refusal letter yesterday but they made a typo in the figures! Has this happened before to anyone?? How did you resolve it. Any advice please.. I don't believe we should pay for someone else mistake by appealing.(please see below a complaint letter I'm thinking to send to British High Commission New Delhi - I found a complaints email and postal address)
I am writing to highlight an error in the spouse visa refusal letter received on the 10/11/16.
As stated in section EC-P.1.1(d) – Section E-ECP (Financial Requirements) bullet point 4, the income deficit is £19,500 (£600 shortfall from income x 2.5 + 16,000).
However the above calculation is incorrect and it is clear (£600 x 2.5) + 16,000 = £17,500.
Since the statement in bullet point 4 is incorrect it would automatically mean the statement in bullet point 6 and 7 is invalid since the sponsor’s savings are above the minimum required (£17,500) during the period of 6 months prior to the application. During this period the minimum balance in the account was £18069.17, hence kindly take this into consideration. The income deficit has been met therefore there are no grounds on which the visa should be refused. Please see the attached copy of the refusal letter for your consideration.
I believe this mistake should be corrected. Could you please review the refusal letter and advise on the next step to have this error rectified. I have also posted a hard copy of this letter regarding this query.
Kind regards
