How long it takes for HO to return ID documents

Dear all,

My EU partner has submitted his application to registration certificate enclosing a Royal Mail special delivery envelop. He has received an E-mail confirming receipt of application. We have searched on the government website but it doesn't say when his ID card and important documents such as original graduation certificates will be returned. Does anyone have similar experience? Can anyone please share information on how long it takes for the HO to return supporting documents?

If you do not request them back, he'll receive them once his application has been decided.
If you request them back online, then it usually takes 10 working days but it can take longer if they're busy.
