Post by omonile » Wed Nov 30, 2016 3:23 pm

Having gone through the 2016 EEA regulation,I did not see any difference to the amendment of previous years as it affects permanent residency application in the future for Direct family member of EEA citizens.Would be glad if I could get any clarification if I am wrong. Thanks

As I understand it, the 2016 regulations are a consolidation of the earlier 2006 Regulations with all its amendments and is primarily a tidying up exercise (renumbering, etc). The main exception is that the Surinder Singh route is tightened up and its requirements are made more explicit (essentially the guidance has been integrated into the regulations).

Sounds like the Home Office aka Theresa May is only after British citizens. What kind of banana republic state "tightens" things for its own citizens while the EEA nationals are free to bring over any one they want.

I believe if you went to Denmark, the same thing is said by Danes.

It is the EU, and its Freedom cannot be tampered with.

What the government is doing with Regulation 9, has no legal foundation. I am most confident that it will not be able to sustain the test of time.
