FLR M Spouse of BC - Italian Visit

Hi fellows, apologize if this question has been discussed before.

I am British and my Spouse is on FLR M visa and we have 2 Minor British Children.

We want to visit to Italy for a week to meet up relative and for general tourism.

I am confused about my Spouse's visa. Do I need to make her EEA/EU visa or Tourist visa application.

Also, do I have to book air tickets and hotel all in advance?

Also, our marriage certificate is non EU registered, do I need to make some sort of registration in UK to prove our relation?

I tried to search everywhere but couldn't get comprehensive reply. Please help. Thanks

Your spouse will need to check the rules relating to their home country, they will possibly need a Schengen visa. Some foreign passport holders dont need a Schengen visa for visits up to 90 days I believe.
