Permanent Residence - Comprehensive Insurance - Family?

Post by kb32 » Sun Dec 04, 2016 7:41 pm

Hi all,

Here is the story.

My parents, me and my brother have moved to UK in 2006. My parents are both working here since 2006 with National Insurance Number etc (Full Time).

Me and my brother went to the school in 2006.

I went to the university in 2011 and finished in 2014.
I have been working since 2014 in London (Full Time).

My brother is currently studying.

We would like to apply for the permanent residence card - we have done it years ago but we were month short so it got send back.

I have seen that being a student in UK requires Comprehensive Insurance Cover which I (or my brother) never had.

Would we be covered under our parents somehow who are both full time workers in London and paying tax + insurance?

I have only been working for last 2,5 years so I am still 2,5 years short of permanent residence as a worker.

Thanks,
kb32

Welcome.

Yes, if one or other parent was a qualified person you (and brother) may apply as their dependent; for example for the period 2006-2011.
In that case no need to show you had CSI.

You may well have acquired PR status as early as 2011.
Rock solid documentary supporting evidence will ofcourse be required.
