Is there any way to delay the biometric registration?

Post by augusto » Mon Dec 05, 2016 10:56 am

Hi All,

My partner just applied for naturalisation and, just this morning, she realised that the biometric registration letter will probably arrive between 2 and 3 weeks from now. She is going abroad in 3 weeks for 2 months to India to visit her family and do a course. There's a big chance that the biometric registration letter will arrive after she left, so I'm wondering if there's a way to request a delay of the biometric registration.

I'm crossing my fingers that the letter will arrive before she goes.

Thanks,
a/

Two letters will be sent, first with a 15-day window to enrol biometrics.
If that is missed a second chance is given, with a 10-day window.
If that is missed the application will fail.
All that is gold does not glitter; Not all those who wander are lost. E&OE.

Better to postpone your travel, You can give your biometric and then fly, your in safe position.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately, postponing the trip is not an option as the tickets are non-refundable, so if the payment is not taken a week before she leaves, we'll instruct the bank to prevent the payment form being taken.

Thanks

Current timeline suggests Biometric Enrolment is within 2 week of application submission but Christmas postal delays may delay the letter delivery.

Hi everyone, here is the wife herself. Just wanted to give you my timelines, all went super quick :)

Email with case ID from Home Office: Dec 9th
Money taken from my account: Dec 9th
Letter arrived at home address with barcode and request to give bio metrics: Dec 12th
