Hi
I hope this finds you well.
I am a non European citizen living in UK for last 5 years and 8 months and married to an European national. Currently I've got 5 years EEA RC (on A4 paper) which is due to expire in 9 months time. I have recently changed my name on my passport and wondering it is worth for me getting this changed on my EEA residence card? I would appreciate if you can also answer my below concerns in the event if I don't get amended my eea card:
1) will I face any difficulty entering in UK or question at UKBA?
2) is it mandatory to amend my RC or carrying my deed poll, marriage certificate will be sufficient for UKBA to prove the reality?
3) How difficult would it be to apply for my ILR in 9 months time?
The reason I don't want to do is UKBA process time which is 6 months.
Please add freely if I missed anything which I might need to consider. I look forward tohearing from you guys!
Many thanks in Advance!!

You are not dealing with UKBA. Its UKVI.
And you are not aiming for ILR. The holy grail is PR.
RCs are optional although useful.
Should be no need to change name.
The date and expiry on RC are irrelevant.
Its likely you have acquired PR already so you should prepare your application to confirm PR asap.
No need to wait another 9 months.

Hi Noajthan
thanks for your below respond.
I entered in UK on students visa in April 2011 and got issued EEA RC in September 2012. will that one year on student visa be countable in order to process my PR?
any other suggestions would be appreciated!
apology as I don't really understand the process.
thanks

Your PR clock starts from latest of:
- date you entered UK;
date sponsor started exercising treaty rights;
date of marriage;
So the student visa is irrelevant, what matters is if you had a sponsor in UK (and you have to be married to count as their family member dependent).
How long have you been married to your EEA sponsor/spouse?

So, if sponsor has been exercising treaty rights since the wedding, and assuming you married in UK, you may have acquired PR in October 2016 (assuming no prolonged absences from UK).

You need rock-solid evidence.
Collate your evidence. (Did I mention it needs to be rock-solid).
Try a dry run filling out form.
See how it shapes up.
Repeat a few times to iron out gaps and crinkles.

Hi
I would really appreciate if someone could guide me on my below cocerns.
I and my wife have submitted our joint PR application online on 24/03/17 and printed copy was sent on 29/03/17 which was received by home office on 30/03/17.
Does anyone know what's the average turnaround for receiving an BRP enrolment letter as I haven't heard anything from them yet?
Another question is, my EEA family member residence card (with home office at present) runs out on 15/09/17, and six month period for our PR application completes on end of September 2017, will it effect my PR application in case home office unable to conclude the decision on our application?
Many thanks in advance!!
Kind regards
Sandeep
