UE CITIZEN, work permit for non-UE wife

My wife (Ivory Coast citizens) and I(French citizen) would like to move in Ireland.

From what we understand:
I do not need a work permit.
If I am working in Ireland, she does NOT need a work permit either to work, and she is free to come to Ireland (without VISA).

However, we are unable to find straight forward answer on official website.

Could you please confirm the above statement, or help us get the correct answer.

Non-EEA needs entry visa to smooth their way into country.
Be aware of considerable delays in visa processing and with processing of EU-documentation due to local issues in Eire.

I would also suggest doing as much reading on this forum and on other sources on the 'surinder Singh' route. If you put this is the search bar you will have lots of information to get your started.

As Noajthan points out- a visa will make your life a lot easier- but if you cant get one- dont give up hope. I am sure you will find a way to help your situation using the experiences of others who have been in your shoes.
