Retired

Hello, just trying to clarify a point about retired people: does retirement after work count as "exercising treaty rights"? EU national, worked continuously in UK from 1987 to 2013, then was made redundant and got early retirement. If applying for PR, would it be ok to choose 2011-2015 as qualifying years (it includes 2 years' retirement) or would it be safer to choose, say, 2008-2012 when I was working? Thanks!

You will qualify under Regulation 15(1)(c) if you demonstrate that the requirement of regulation 5(2) is met.

In any event you qualify under regulation 15(1)(a) anyway.
