Student Registration Certificate

Post by abtx » Sun Dec 11, 2016 11:16 pm

Hi. I've got a Registration Certificate, I'm not sure if I made the application as a student. How can I distinguish a student Registration Certificate from a regular one?

Thanks noajthan,
I'm an EU8 national, it looks like the yellow ones were issued for EU2, I can't find anything about EU8 :|

You need to read backwards to page 51.

Were you a student when you got that RC?
In other posts you have stated you applied as part of a family application.
Suggest crosscheck with copy of original application form - trusting you do keep all immigration related documents on file - for ever (don't you).

I'm pretty sure it was my dad who applied on my behalf, I was at the Uni at the time. I'm sure there was some sort of question/issue about my position within the application, which leads me to believe the issue was about me applying as part of family vs student, which in turn I think means I've settled for a regular certificate. I'll take a punt and send all the paperwork. Thanks for the help noajthan!!

Suggest add a cogent covering letter and explain you are invoking the transitional arrangement for RC holders as of 2011 or before.

See this internal HO guidance for reference:
