TIER 2 - COS and WORK start dates

Post by zyx987 » Tue Dec 13, 2016 2:49 pm

Hello!

My tier 4 visa expires on 28/01/2017 and I have found a sponsor for my Tier 2 visa. I will start working for them on 20/01/2017. We made a short term 1 week contract stating that I will become permanent once I get my visa. My sponsor has put 29/01/2017 as the start date on my COS, but I am starting to work for them on the 20th. Will this create a problem? Especially since it's one day after my visa expiration date and not the same as my work start date?

I dont think its a problem. You can work with your tier 4 visa for 20 hours/week during term time and more while not in session. as is stands you will work with the company on your tier 4 visa from 20/01 -28/01 and your new COS start date is 29/01. I will advise you go for priority or premium service. your new visa will become valid from the day it is issued. it is possible you even get the visa before you resume on the 20/01.

the start and end date on cos are the dates of sponsoring and not the dates of your employment. So it should be fine.
