Wrong passport details on RCoS

Dear Gurus,

My Employer has made a silly but critical mistake and have stated my old passport details on my Restricted CoS instead of my new passport which I renewed in July 2016.

The problem is I have already submitted the visa application form online and have booked an appointment with VFS global in India on Monday 19th at 8.15 am.

So is it possible for my employer to add a sponsor note as I have already submitted the application.
What else can my Employer do.?
Is this a major point of concern and will affect my visa application because anyways I will be submitting my old passport as well.
