How to prove you submitted a certain document?

Post by hamalt66 » Sat Dec 17, 2016 9:53 am

When submitting an application to home office, obviously one would use the best delivery method available such as "The Special Delivery Guaranteed-TM" which one can track the parcel and actually know exactly when it was delivered and even see the name and signature of the person who received it. That's fine, but how one can make sure that all documents sent were received and how to proove it if home office says you have not submitted a certain document which you're sure you sent it with rest of the documents?

I know the list of documents are usually in the covering letter and also in the table in the last page of the application form, but how to prove that you actually sent that specific document? Is there any other means of sending documents where one can get a signature for every single document in the parcel just to make sure that nothing will be lost?

Have a witness sign and date a copy of every document being sent?

Really? I didn't know this can be done. I presume the witness will have to sign that at the post office? Has anyone here done that?

Scanning it all into a file could help.

I am not aware of signing at the post office service. If you are using a solicitor and they send the package directly it is another layer of proof (with all the errors of solicitors that seem to be raised on this forum that is far from perfect....)

Thanks Seasky for your reply, how will scanning the documents prove to home office that you sent them?

if you scan it and email it onwards it leaves a digital signature that it existed at the time before submission. it's not perfect but there is no service from post office for this and t1 extensions can run into hundreds if not over 1000 pages.
