Urgent attention! - Forum Administrator/Moderator

Post by iCloud » Sat Dec 17, 2016 1:07 pm

Dear Administrator/Moderator,

I have been using the Ireland part (http://www.immigrationboards.com/ireland/) of this forum for long time. Last two/three days when I was accessing (http://www.immigrationboards.com/irelan ... 00188.html) the forum from my phone (i-Phone) and I was automatically redirect to different link. I hope your site is not got hacked.

I thought something wrong with my chrome browser then I removed it and download it again from App store, unfortunately, pop up still coming.

Please see the screenshot link:

Sounds like a browser redirect type of malware.

Have you tried fully clearing your browser data and cache?

Have you installed any other untrusted apps recently?

I had a similar problem in the past from a malicious app. If you search on Google you'll find various instructions on how to rectify the problem.

The issue isn't with this website, it's with your mobile.

@noajthan,

I always download apps using iTunes. As it was happening on my i phone and i pad, I believe, Apple doesn't allow any malicious apps on their devices unless someone install apps from unreliable sources. I was using Google Chrome browser on both i Phone and i Pad. I removed it and again installed it from the app store.

However, those popups are still there.

Well, it's not a big deal though.

Anyway, thanks for your reply moderator.

Official from Apple Support - "Some apps downloaded and installed from the Internet could adversely affect your Mac."

I believe rooibos intended to post 'fanboy mindset'

If you still have the issue, I suggest you check the apps you've enabled recently.

fanboi, more likely used by those "down with the kids", is a slightly altered form of the idiomatic "fanboy," which is generally used for anyone who is a dedicated fan of anything.

I've had this happen before too, only ever with this site. I wondered if it's to do with accidentally clicking on one of the adverts, over whose contents the site presumably has no direct influence.
