Tier 2 Salary Increase + Promotion query

Post by adamzain » Mon Dec 19, 2016 12:10 pm

Hi everyone,
I need your help and kind advice on my situation.
I was issued Tier 2 Visa after switching from Tier 4 in Dec 2015. I was employed as a Business Analyst SOC 2423(Management consultants and business analysts)

I was offered an initial salary of £23,000, following the completion of my probation period my salary was increased to £25,000 and this was reported to the UKVI via SMS.
Its been a year, and I have now been offered a promotion to a Associate Manger (Team Leader), overseeing a team of 3 junior business analysts.

My salary will be increased to £33,000, (32% increase). The core duties will remain the same, and the only added scope is that I will be additionally managing a team.

Will this considered be a technical change? Will my new rule still fall within the same SOC given that my duties are the same? will I need a new application and to conduct RMLT as this may be viewed as a significant increase?

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi Adam,

It all comes down to the SOC code, from the entire list of possibilities, being the CLOSEST one to your new job description. Have a look at all the possible ones and see if that's still the case.

In the affirmative, just report the change in job title and salary.

If there's any other SOC code that would be the closest to your new responsibilities, then you need to apply for a new visa.
