Which country are you living in and what have you applied for? RC?stefanvl wrote:Paperwork so the non-EU married partner can work. The time from arrival application until he can work.
No, because those cards are for Germany and UK respectively.stefanvl wrote:I am Belgian he is Costa Rican
We lived in Germany. He had the EU document that allows him to live and work in Germany.
We then moved to Northern Ireland where we now live and both work. He has the COA with permission to work. We are waiting for the card I am not sure what he will be getting or what they call it to be honest.
Now we are looking into moving to ROI but would like to know if my non-EU married partner will be allowed to work any quicker because he has the UK card and the German Article 10 residence card.
Thanks for your help
In that case dependent can work or run a business too.stefanvl wrote:Of course I the EU partner would work from day one... It is just very hard to survive in ROI with just one paycheck. Rent seems extremely high, especially if you have to live of of one paycheck for 6 or 10 months...

A spouse dependent on a Union citizen may reside, work even study, if their sponsor is a qualified person.
Ofcourse a card comes in handy in persuading a poorly-informed and time-poor employer that someone is not an illegal.
But it doesn't confer any right to work per se.
Move to Eire and work from day one or start own business if that floats your boat.
