Non-EEA National with work Permit-now EEA Family Visa

Post by saurabhkalra » Sun Dec 25, 2016 7:13 pm

Hello,

I am an Indian national residing in UK since July,2012. I came on a tier 2 General Visa (Local company here sponsored me) in July,2012. In December,2013, I got into civil partnership with my Italian Partner. In April,2014, I changed my visa from Tier2 to EEA Family residence card which is valid until March,2019. My partner has acquired Permanent Residency now. We both are full time employed.

My question is, next year I will be in UK for 5 years. Will I be eligible for applying Permanent Residence or I do need to wait until I am in civil partnership for 5 years? I have doubts as I was partly in Tier 2 Visa and partly in EEA Family Permit.

Home office website does not stay anything about it.

Regards,
S.K.

Wait until you are in a civil partnership for at least 5 years.
