i have had an employee for 6 months who has left his post .. i was paying paying him 8pounds per hour .. now i have someone new who is replacing him at minimum wage.

will it be an issue that they are not paid the same rate and hours?
the new person is being paid less hours and less rate ... however he is doing the same job,
