Maximum stay under tier 2 general visa

Hello,

Happy new year to you all!

I have a quick question. I am extending my tier 2 general visa in few months. I have already had 3 years visa under tier 2. I am just wondering what "start date" and "end date" I should put in the CoS (Certificate of Sponsor) for the tier 2 general visa extension application. I guess maximum we can extend is for 2 years + 14 days. Please help anyone!

How long you can stay
You can apply to extend your visa for up to another 5 years, as long as your total stay is not more than 6 years.
