New CoS extending potential stay beyond 6 Years

Post by kmm26 » Thu Jan 05, 2017 10:31 pm

Hello Guys

I am looking for some quick advice regarding CoS and the lengths stated on them

So I am currently a Tier 2 Permit Holder and have been working for the same company since Sept 2012. I have extended my Tier 2 Permit a couple of times since, most recently being in Nov 2016.

I have just picked up a new Job for a well known reputed high street retailer and recieved my new CoS.

Unknowingly, HR have allocated me with start dates from March 2017 to March 2020.

Now, when I apply for my new Tier 2 Permit, will my application be refused? as March 2020 will exceed 6 years by almost 17-18 months.

Or will I be only given a permit up unitll Sept 2018, which will bring me up to the 6 Years limit.

As the CoS has already been allocated, can HR amend the certificate, helping to fix any arising issues.

As I shall be eligible for ILR via Tier 2 (5 Years) in September 2017 along side the 10 Year long residency route late in Dec 2017, I am not planning to utilize my full sponsored period but rather will be handing my applications at some point in early 2018.

Any thoughts on what my options are regarding the new CoS.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank You

Regards
K

Hi,

You do not need to worry about this. You simply apply for your visa. UKVI will work out the validity dates themselves and will make sure your total stay in Tier 2 does not go beyond 6 years.

Thanks,
Hassan

Thanks guys for ye speedy reply.

I had already emailed HR and they are also looking into it.

So I should have my application in early next week.

Regarding IHS refunds, I had already paid £600 back in September. Guessing I'll have to first pay an additional £600 now and then apply for a refund?

Has anyone had any success regarding it?
