Hi everyone,
I am an EU citizen, living in UK since Sep 2010, working ever since, been granted PR in Nov 2015 and applied for BC in Nov 2016.
Prior to this, I worked 3 months, on basis of a Student Yellow Card, in healthcare, in 2008, after which I quit and went back to my home country, only to return in 2010 when I remained to the UK for good. When applying for PR I've been told by Home Office that I shouldn't even include these 3 months in my application, as they do not contribute to any qualifying period. I chose to explain these 3 months in a cover letter for my PR application which, anyway, went with no problems.
For the BC application, I completed AN form correctly, however, advised by Home Office when I rang them (3 different times, 3 different workers), I have not included these months in the section 1.50: "Employment history in UK during past 10 years, or since date of entry if you have been here for less than 10 years". I was told they would not matter in any way regarding my naturalisation and that I should not complicate the form with it. They said the form refers to the period in which I came to the UK with a view to staying here permanently. But I suppose their advice cannot be taken as written in stone.
Also, section 2:1 of AN application, asks for "Date and place of first arrival in the UK" and I've given the date in 2010, just like I did with the PR application. Even AN guide states: "Enter the day you first arrived with a view to staying in the UK on a long-term basis, and the airport or seaport through which you then entered."
My question is: would this detail be a potential problem in my application for citizenship? The Home Office can easily verify that I've been honest and declared these 3 months of work in the cover letter I wrote for my PR application, which has been granted. However I am worrying a bit about it.
Thank you for any advice.
