comprehensive sickness insurance if employed in the UK ?

Post by martin555 » Sun Jan 08, 2017 9:06 pm

Hello,

I have been trying for a while to figure out what documents I need to provide in terms of "comprehensive sickness insurance". I have been a student from 2010 - 2014 but I have EHICs only until 01.08.2013. However I have been insured in my home country - Bulgaria - until 01.08.2015 and I should be able to get document (any of the "S" forms I assume) to prove this. I have been in full-time employment since end of 2014 until now and for that period I have been paying taxes in the UK and therefore I haven't been insured in my home country so I can't get document or EHIC for that period. Could anyone please explain what documents people like me would need to provide for the periods of full-time employment in the UK ? (By the way I also have the "yellow" card since Feb 2011)

Thanks!

CSI is only required for students or self-sufficient Qualifed Persons. As a worker QP there is no requirement for CSI. Others may comment on the documentation for you period as a student.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

Thank you very much for the answer. I will get my p60 form from my current employer as proof of employment and hopefully this would be enough. If anyone has experience regarding evidence of CSI for past period, could you please let me know what kind of document you have used if you didn't have EHIC for the full period.

Any letter confirming health cover from health authorities in your country should suffer.
Also that RC should enable you to invoke exemption from providing evidence of CSI as a student (if RC was issued to you as a student).
All that is gold does not glitter; Not all those who wander are lost. E&OE.
