Tier 2 switch employer last working day

I have the following query:(dates are example to show the situation )

Current Employer: (Tier 2) BRP 1st Feb 2012 - 20th Jan 2015
Got a new job and applied for employer switch.
COS issued by new employer 18th March 2014 - 17th March 2017
Applied for premium service and new BRP issued on 4th March 2014 (before COS start date)
Am I allowed to work with current employer until 17th March 2014 even if the new BRP is issued?

Please reply! Would appreciate if any reference on Tier 2 guidance can be shown.

Yes, you can work till start date of new cos. I do not have any links for this but Tier 2 guidance says you can serve the notice period with your previous employer.
