OCI application documents

Question regarding OCI application documents. I will be taking copy of the documents ( Passport, Birth Certificate, Surrender Certificate) etc to the application center in London. Will the VFS copy keep originals of any of the documents with them (& return later). If they are going to keep the originals, how long will they be keeping the originals.

pls don't forget to take naturalisation certificate copies. VFS will keep naturalisation and surrender certificates, it will be returned it to you after a week in post. british passport is required as well but they will return it to you on same day after checking.

Is the birth certificate mandatory [who born in india] ? As per my understanding the below list is fine

1) British Passport [Original] + 2 copies
2) Naturalisation Certificate [Original] + 2 copies
3) Surrender Certificate [Original] + 2 copies
4) Online OCI Application print out
5) 2 Photos.
6) Appointment letter printout.

Please correct me if i miss anything.

birth certificate is not required, I had a similar doubt. I reckon passport surrender preceeds it.
the rest of the docs only one copy is required.

Was at VFS on Goswell Road today with the above documents and was asked to go back. Was told I needed an employer's letter/ letter from accountant if self-employed.

FYI for others who may be applying for an OCI card at this VFS centre.
