Tier 2 General - Change SOC Code to New SOC

I currently have a valid Tier 2 General CoS (Current SOC 2139) and my company is interested in promoting me to a role which falls under a SOC (2135) different code ( but under the same industry (Information Technology).

Please find below my queries:

1) Would this mean that they will have to apply for a fresh CoS under the new SOC code?

2) If No, does this mean it will be a simple change?

3) If yes,

a) If the company applies under the new SOC and it gets denied would this have an impact on my existing CoS or will that become invalid?

b) If it gets approved would I have to leave the country and re-enter? Also would that mean my previous CoS will become invalid the moment this gets approved?
