Is this amount of GBP good enough

Post by ukvisitor99 » Sat Jan 14, 2017 6:00 pm

Hey guys, I know there's no set amount of cash needed to get through immigration but I need some advice so please hear me out.

I want to go to the UK soon for a short trip of 3 weeks to see my long distance girlfriend. I will have accommodation taken care of(I'm going to be staying with her in those 3 weeks). The ties to my country are:

-I own my own business there(I'm self employed)
-I pay rent and other stuff
-My family is there

I'm also going to have a return ticket back to my country.

When I convert the amount of money I currently have in savings to GBP (excluding the flight tickets) it amounts to just a little over 3000GBP

That's the amount I plan to show to immigration on my savings certificate, I have 2 Visa debit cards as well as 1 Mastercard.

I'm seeing online that people sometimes don't get asked about the financials or once they show their cards they're ok but I might not be one of them so i need to prepare.

Can someone please tell me if this amount(3000GBP) might be ok with immigration for a 3 week trip with accommodation taken care of?

Thank you

Probably more important to focus on proof you will return home after visit.

I did not address that as no comment on that point which is of lesser import than the return.

Please guys don't go off topic, my question is if this amount is a Safe figure to show for a 3 week trip to the UK to immigration, yes I will have other documents showing I intend to return home which obviously I do.

I am not landing in London, I am landing in Manchester and will spend the 3 weeks in Manchester. Please answer the question at hand without going off topic thank you all
