Spouse visa - Financial requirements - Cash savings

Post by Lm1012 » Sun Jan 15, 2017 5:14 pm

HI, im just here looking for some advice on the spouse visa please.
I am a British citizen and am currently and have been living in Turkey with my partner for 3 years and 7 months. We are looking to come back to the UK to live together.
We plan to get married next month and we want to apply for the spouse visa for him to come to the UK with me. I have read that we need to use the cash savings route as i do not have a job. My great grandmother has recently passed away and my grandparents have sold her house which means the money from the house went to them. I was wondering that for the savings of £62,500 would my grandparents be able to transfer the money into my savings/bank account and say that this is a gift and that they want to give it to me to help set up our life in the UK? I would keep this money in my bank for the 6 months required. Will this be ok to use as the £62,500 needed for the visa financial requirements? Also i was wondering that if the visa is granted, afterwards (going by the fact that once we come to the UK, we will both start working and will have a salary which we can then use for the next visa application after the 2.5 years) would i be able to remove this money from the savings account or will it have to stay in the account for a certain amount of time? Thanks
