Hello,
I have been in the UK for 14 years and I want to apply for permanent residency but I may not be a qualified person because in 3 of the last 5 years I was at university without Comprehensive Sickness Insurance.
My timeline so far from 2002:
School in the UK Year 5 to Year 13.
Straight into university in UK.
1 month gap for holidays
3 month gap for job applications.
Found a job in my field of study, resigned after 2 years.
1 month holiday.
2 weeks of job hunting in the UK.
My questions are.
Am I not a qualified person for permanent residency due to having no CSI?
If permanent residency is automatic and I used to be qualified up till 2011 when I turned 18, is it possible to lose your right to apply after being in the country for 9 years?
I know I could have been given permanent residency under my parents back when they qualified to apply in 2007 but we thought we had the same rights as UK citizens and never expected that the UK would leave the EU.
