Same job but different rates

Post by HarisM » Thu Jan 19, 2017 3:56 pm

Hi Gurus, i forgot to ask you one additional question in my previous inquiry.

I had an employee for 10 month and later she left. After that i hired a new guy but on less hourly rates (Still in legal limit). Job is full time.

Does home office raised question when job is same but you pay a different rate, as in market rate differs with experience.

Shall i keep him on the same rate or raise his rate to avoid trouble, as like i was paying to the old employee?

Your input is highly appreciate especially zimba 88 :)

Thanks!!

HI zimba, Just start filling application and came across job table .please if you can guide on this.
Employee has worked 7 months part time and 1 month full time .

3 months Jan , Feb , March 100 hrs per month at Min wage as title (Assistance) But total pay was fixed as basic pay
3 Months Apr , May , June 90 hrs per month as title (Tech) with raise of £.50p per hr (Again total pay was same but less hrs worked ) LEFT JOB END OF JUNE 2014

Same employee worked again in 2016

Nov 70 hrs -Part time (paid Min hourly rate) As title Tech
Dec 135 -Full time ( Paid Min hourly rate ) As title Tech

Will these above jobs will be consider as 4 different job number on application form . AS first 6 months worked continuously but 3 month different job role and pay rate and then different in next 3 months . Again same job role and pay rate but 1 month part time and 1 full time . I am little confused about how to fill for this employee . if you could help with this confusion . Thanks

If worked in the same job role then you enter in the same table, each period on a separate row, then tick part time or full time.

Thanks Zimba , So we will have to fill table as 3 jobs for this employee . Job role and pay rate was different in first 6 (3 + 3) months and same job role in last 2 two months but one part time and one full time month . What my under standing says it should be as below please correct me if I am wrong .As we are not clear on part time rules don't know how will they count it as 3 part + 3 part +1 part = 3.5 full Months or they will go by actual no of hrs. Thanks

As I said many times, there is no clear guide of part time employees.
