Out of Country Tier 2 General IELTS Query

Hello all,

Can someone confirm how many years an IELTS certificate is considered valid for first time Tier 2 General out of country application?

If someone has an IELTS certificate from May 2015, can they use this in Jan 2017?

Please clarify.
