UK Citizenship Refused - Help

Post by Stuartpmurray » Fri Jan 20, 2017 9:44 am

Hello,

Apologies if this is in the wrong place etc.

I was wondering if anyone knew the outcome to this particular thread:

http://www.immigrationboards.com/britis ... b#p1333554

An exact situation has arisen and I am struggling to see where to turn next and hoped that GabiB managed to get their issue resolved and was looking to follow a similar path. Is there anyone I can speak to?

Thanks in advance,

Stuart

Welcome.

If you mean does an applicant have to hold a 'PR card' for 12 months the answer is no.
What is your question in your case?
Which section of BNA are you considering apply under? 6(1) or 6(2)?

I'm not clear on your specific question.
However, a section 6(1) applicant has to be free of immigration time restrictions for at least 12 months before applying to naturalise.
For those on EU route that means having acquired PR status 12 months (or more) ago.

Its nothing to do with date of issue of a confirmatory DCPR/PRC.
Although HO has recently made possession of the optional DCPR/PRC mandatory for EU route naturalisation applicants.

The thread I attached started by GabiB is the same situation as the one I face and wondered if anyone knew the outcome of it

Thanks - who can i speak to as it looks like a mistake in that case? Or is the only way to appeal at a cost of £270

Hi,

Can anyone suggest the best way forward?

As I said in the original post, it is the same issue as GabiB so going off the date of issue rather than actual PR

Thanks in advance

Write and make your case and see if you get through to a kind-hearted caseworker.
Otherwise appeal.
