Apply for ILR while Tier 2 is curtailed

Hi,

I am currently on a Tier 2 Gen visa which expires on 2018/12, and i will be completing my 10 year residence on 01/08/2017,

but unfortunately my employer is making my job redundant.

i want to know, when is the latest can i apply for the ILR application, and can i apply if i get redundant and has a valid curtailment hopefully passing or not my 10 year residence

As long as you have leave or curtailed leave on the day u can apply for 10 years, you should be fine.
U can apply 28 days before you first entered the country.

Hi iworker,

Just for my sanity, when applying for ILR, don't you need a letter from employer saying that we still need this employee for unforeseen time period?

I may be wrong but I thought this was the requirement that the employee is still needed for the job at the time of his/her ILR application.

Please disregard my previous reply. I didn't pay attention to the 10 years long residence route.

I believe that letter is required if applying for ILR after 5 years of being on Tier 2 (General)

Thanks for the reply on this matter, following on my first visa that I came into UK was a Visitor Visa on Aug 2007 for two months then I returned and re applied as a student and came back in Jan 2008, the question is my Visitor Visa will be counted towards 10 Year long residency?
