HMRC document mandatory for naturalisation?

Post by immig000 » Sun Jan 22, 2017 6:30 pm

HI,
I have a JCAP appointment this friday and I am filling the AN form.

I am an IT contractor operating through a limited company. So even though for HMRC I am employed, for UKBA i assume that should mark as self-employed in 1.46. Is that right?

For question 1.50(employment history) - Are the documents like HMRC employment history or P60s mandatory?

My NCS has a requirement like "Passport/Travel document dating back 5 years. If your passport(s) do not
cover this time or gaps are between passports you must provide additional evidence such as: P60s, payslips, employment letters, benefits letters, school/college/university letters.
" - Since i have my passport covering the 5 years i assume i dont have to provide any HMRC docunets. - Am i correct?

You have 2 requirements to meet here:
proof of residence;
proof of meeting tax/NI obligations;

Submit adequate evidence to fulfill both requirements.

If a sole trader you are selfemployed.
If a director of a company you are a director.
If working for a company you are an employee.

I am a contractor operating through a Limited company. I am the director as well as employee drawing salary and dividends. So should i tick Employed or self-employed?

So from your reply, I infer my 5 year passports would satisfy only the residence requirements and not the tax obligations?
For tax obligations, it would be the HMRC documents. Am i correct?

P60 or employment history for 5 years is sufficient or for all 10 years?
