EU Spouse visa to spain

Hi,

Wondering if somebody can advise me about EU spouse visa. I'm British citizen, my husband is a indian national with ILR. We both live and work in uk. We booked to go to Spain in April for a week (travelling together). Am I right in thinking that my husband can apply EU spouse visa to avoid any problems in boarding the flight and at the immigration. Or does he need Schengen visa? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I've read few topics about Spainish consulate being fussy about marriage certificates. Our marriage certificate is english but we were married in India. Wondering if anybody successfully got EU spouse visa with Indian marriage certificate (with Spanish consulate)?

There is no EU Spouse visa . Your husband will have to apply for a Spanish Schengen visa.
