Dear Admin,
Could you please advice me on few points:
- I got my Tier 2 VISA (Validity 3 years) on 1st May 2012.
- I went to Norway on a secondment contract for about 20 months. I never visited to UK during this period.
- I re-entered UK on 1st February 2014 and in May 2015 got my extension for another 2 years.
- Will my duration for secondment contract count for ILR or not?
- If not, my clock towards ILR has started once again in February 2014.
- Now, the Tier 2 rule states that I can only stay under Tier 2 category for a maximum of 6 years period.
- So, in May 2017 I can only apply for an extension of 1 more year. That is Leave to remain until May 2018.
- But in order to apply for ILR my Tier 2 Leave to remain VISA should be valid up to 1st February 2019.
Kindly share your expert opinion on same. Are there any other ways, or are there any provisions under secondment contract, if I can apply for 2 years extension in May 2017. To achieve my ILR status in February 2019.
Thanks in well advance.
