Appropriate websites to advertise a job for RLMT

Post by acadz » Wed Jan 25, 2017 2:19 pm

Hi,

My employer is planning to sponsor me and is going to carry out the Resident Labour Market Test. I know that the job has to be advertised on JobCentre plus/Universal Jobmatch and one other place, which can be online.

Would a website like LinkedIn or CV Library work?

I know the guidance states 'the job can be advertised on an online version of a national newspaper, professional journal, or the website of a prominent or professional recruitment organisation...'

Technically CV Library is a jobsite and LinkedIn a professional social network site which happens to have a job section. Just wondering what your experiences are like, as I want to ensure my employer is getting this right.

This smacks 100% of preselection, what if the employers finds a suitable local for the role?

LinkedIn is not acceptable nor is the CV site.
Reed, Monster, indeed, etc that actually advertise jobs are the common sites in use.

Wanderer is right - you have been pre selected for the role so you are entering a very murky area of Sponsorship. Expect issues going forward.
