Tier 2 Supplementary work, urgent clarification needed?

Dear Gurus/experienced members,

Please, can you help me with this query, (which is kind of urgent)?

In page 106 (Tier 2 guidance Jan/2017), the supplementary work is described as;
''...or a job in the same profession and at the same professional level as the work for which the CoS was assigned.''

1. Does this mean that a supplementary employment must be directly of one of the duties described in the COS ?
or
2. Can it be more or less close to the same professional level/profession, and not necessarily and explicitly listed in the duties? e.g. Can a university research fellow conduct a paid workshop at another university (Provided they are in the PAYE of the both institutions)? However, the SOC code does not list tutoring explicitly but states conducting seminars?

It has to be the same soc code. Not the same duties in your cos.
from what you have mentioned, it does seem ok.
Make sure all monies that u get are through paye, and less than 20 hours a week.

Is there any way I can clarify these officially? As you can see, the code states the following duties, and it loosely explains demonstrating. My spouse has already conducted 2 days of workshops and was already paid PAYE. In case, conducting workshops don't fall into the same SOC, what kind of situation are we in when we extend visa? THank you once again.

The SOC code states the following,
