6 Months family Visitor Visa

Hello

My mom was issued a 2 year multi entry visa from the 2nd of july 2015 till 2nd of july 2017. She visited the uk from the 5th of July 2015 and returned on the 4th jan 2016 having spent 6 months in total. We would like her to visit again at the end of march for a family occasion. Would there be a problem in her coming back after the initial visit of six months

It should not be a problem. A year has elapsed since her return.
I would however suggest that she arrives with her return ticket already in hand to prove her length of stay and returning home before her visa expires.
