How long will it take to get response on an appeal hearing?

Can someone please help me out. I made an appeal in December 2015 after my application was rejected for a resident card. I finally got a hearing date on the 5th of January 2017 but unfortunately for me the case was adjourned and a new hearing date have not been given.
What I will like to know if it will be possible for the Home Office to consider my cases without us going back to court because my representative have supplied them with all the evidence we took to court. I have 18 months old son a British citizen and my ex partner is a British citizen as well. My son live with her and I am having a direct contact with him. The Home Office have been dragging my cases with all the courts waiting for over 16 months now. I just need some advice on what to do I am really frustrated right now.

HO is highly unlikely to reconsider your case as the decision was made back in 2015 on the evidence supplied at the time.
You will have to wait for your adjourned case to be heard.
