Working Part-Time on Tier 2 (general) work sponsored visa

Post by npremji06 » Thu Feb 02, 2017 12:25 pm

Hello,

I am looking for advise regarding working part time while being sponsored by full time employment. I started working for a company 1.5 years ago and still have 1.5 years on my visa. I would like find ways I can make more money to save up, and would like to know if it is okay to work for another employer part time in the same field I am working.

Will there be any adverse affects in the future for any applications towards ILR.

Any help would be helpful.

Hi,

You can do a second job in the same profession and at the same level as your main job for up to 20 hours per week outside your working hours of your main job.
Or You can do a job which has a shortage of workers in the UK for up to 20 hours per week outside your working hours of your main job.

See Paragraph 226: Supplementary Employment of Policy Guidance for Tier 2 below:

Thanks

Thank you @hassanh for your reply.

A follow up to my inquiry...

Can this part time work in the same profession be self-employed? And/or does the other employer need a Certificate of Sponsorship?

Thank you in advance for your help!

as long as the the part time is less than 20 hours, they dont need a cos.
u cant be self employed, it has to be paye.
