Tier 2 General Health Surcharge

Dear Immigration board admin/users,

Iam applying for a visa extension for Tier 2 general and I have a certificate of sponsorship with exact 3 years time frame. I lived in UK for 3 years and 8 months. Now if I apply for the extension how much i need to pay for the health surcharge as I will be completing my 5 year period by next year.

In that case shall I pay till the end of my 5 year period. Will that be correct ? or should i need to pay the whole amount ? i.e. for the whole 3 year period mentioned in my Cos

Also i don't know whether UKVI may give my visa till the 3 year period i.e. say till Feb 2020 or say if complete my 5 year period by March 2018, then it will be till march 2018. Please advice.
