Missing Document for UK BRP Replacement

Hi,

I am an international student from Indonesia and was travelling to America and left my BRP in London. I then had my friend send it to the States via UPS. The BRP was unfortunately lost in the delivery process. I managed to return to the UK after border forces scanned my fingerprints and confirmed my residency. Now I am filling in the application form for BRP replacement, but I noticed that I need a letter from home office, and I had not kept it after receiving it. Would this be a major issue when submitting the application to them? My university counselor suggested submitting a confirmation of study letter instead.
