Hi, I live in London and I want my mum and Grandma to come to visit me and meet my boyfriend, I applied for visa for both of them and they have given it to my grandma but not to my mum; my mum is self employed and she does not have a company as such she does a bit of cooking only when she can and when clients requested, she works from home and as the situation is at the moment in Venezuela getting customer it's getting really hard for her, so she can really demonstrate much, apart from some photos we have of the food she makes, but as this is not constantly she does not have a big income from it. the officer has said, the documents that have been submitted do not provide evidence of your position in the company, or that you are currently receiving a regular income. it's not clear what is going to happen to your business whiles you are away and basically they think she does not have salary to return to. he also said 'I am not satisfied as to your intentions in wishing to travel to the UK now. I am not satisfied that you genuinely intent a short visit only to the UK and that you will leave UK at the end of the visit, also I am not satisfied you will be able to accommodate your self comfortably in the UK or meet the cost of our return or onward journey from the UK'.
I get the part of the income and I don't really know yet how I can make it work for them to believe what she does, but the part that really gets in my head is that my mum as 2 teenagers girls, my sisters are 13 and 16 years old, they are currently in school and not intent to come to the UK at all, my dad also lives there and will be responsible for them whiles my mum is away for 28 days. I bought a house for my mum last year and she is working on put it on her name at the moment, however she has a new house, husband and kinds to go back, she works when she can and she also had an accident and broke her hand which does not allow her to do very much without my dad next to her in the Spam, she also has osteoporosis and have severe paints when is a little bit cold in Venezuela (19C) she cannot live in a cold place, she wont live her family and like any mother does what she can when she can to get some money in.
I have an step brother living here too and I guess the officer thought she will stay here because her son and daughter live in London, but my step brother has his own mum expenses to cover plus he only earns very little money at work. I am in the situation that I can afford to pay my mum and my grandma to come to visit me and my self and my boyfriend can afford for both of them to stay with us, I definitely want to apply again but it will be good to know if you have any advice for me, please. I gave my mum an invitation letter and explain everything she will be doing here and that I will paying for everything, does this mean that because she is self employed she wont ever be able to visit me? or if I get married? or have my first baby? how do a explain to them I would her to be able to come here to visit me any time I want, because I live here, I work here, for me and my mum is a lot better for my family to stay in Venezuela as with the money I sent to them every week from Pounds to Bolivares she can get a lot more of money and do more, in here she will be 5 times or more expensive for me plus the money I will still need to send to Venezuela for the rest of the family. My grandma however does not have a job, she is a pensioner, only has my grandpa to go back to but they approved the visa, does that make sense? I am very happy for her, but unfortunately my grandma wont be able to travel on her own, she gets very nervous and would not accept to travel that length on her own so is almost pointless that she gets it but not my mum. when I start to do the applications I filled a form for family permit as I thought what I will pay for a visa if they are close family and can come without paying, I requested the appointment for my mum and one day talking to a friend he told me but a family permit is is she will stay for the 6 month or more then I think she will need a visa and not a family permit, I went onto the system and cancelled application and appointment and started with a visa application, I don't if that is what it made them to think she will come to stay.
If you have any advice it will very much appreciate.
Thank you,
Liliana
