Queries on Visitor Visa for my father.

Post by ravisb_2014 » Sun Feb 12, 2017 7:17 pm

Hi,
Hope everyone is doing well and had a nice weekend.

This is the first time I am posting for queries on Visitor Visa under General UK Immigration forum. If the question is repeated, kindly point me to the correct thread.

I am applying for Standard Visitor visa for my father. He was retired around 15 years back in India and now get a little (around £10/month) pension amount and other dividend (around £20 to £30 per month) from Insurance and investment.

He needs to declare Income and Savings in his application. I declared the following on his behalf.

Q1. Other regular Income (Selected 'Allowance or regular money from family', 'Pension', 'Investment') -
Stock Investment around £3500 to £4000 (liquid amount) + Pension (£30 to £40) + Regular money(money transferred by me yearly/half yearly/quarterly).

Under Savings, I entered currently how much amount is available in his Savings Account.

Q2. How much money are you planning to spend on your visit to the UK?
--- £2000

Q3. What is the total amount of money you spend each month?
--- £30 (i presume it's in india)

Q4. Will anyone be paying towards the cost of your visit?
--- I am selecting 'Yes' and entering my name mentioning the relationship and that's why I am paying towards his visit. (£3000).
I am submitting my 1 year bank statement around £8000 savings.

Please clarify if above declarations are fine.
My father is a Widower and does not have any property in his name, which is my main concern to convince ECO that he will be leaving the country before his Visa expires, but his intention is definitely to leave the country within 6 months . Please suggest how do I add weightage to his application.

Thanks a lot in advance for looking at this topic and your suggestions will be really helpful for me.

There is very little chance of your father being granted a visit visa.
Single elderly male with little income and no property. It paints a poor picture for the ECO regardless of how it is written or the strength of the commitment to return.
There is a distinct lack of ties to India and little reseason to return. Don't get your hopes up too much.

+1
Frontier Mole may agree with me that visitor visas for elderly parents have become more difficult to obtain since the Rules were tightened considerably in July 2012 on the route to settlement for adult dependants.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

Thank you Frontier and Casa for getting back to me. Really appreciate that.

I know it's really difficult. I in fact had come across many cases of my friends and friend of friend, the visa was rejected for window or windower parent and due to lack of ties to India.

Currently my father lives with my sister. Will my sister or brother-in-law supporting documents may help ?
I don't have hope, but definitely would like to give a try with various options and selecting the best one.

Please suggest.

Hi Frontier Mole and Casa ,
Thanks again for your support through this forum..

You may not believe this. My father has got the visa and he is in UK for last more than a month.
I know it's difficult, but if your application is genuine and strong (sufficient fund, strong ties to your native country, supporting document for each line in the cover letter and sponsorship letter etc.), then you can be 99% sure that your VISA will be approved.

Thanks once again for your suggestion. Keep helping. Anybody needs any input, please don't hesitate to contact me..
