Standard visitor visa for Parents( long term)

Post by rrp » Sun Feb 12, 2017 11:27 pm

Hi,

Hope someone can help here. I am planning to apply long term visitor visa ( under standard visitor visa route) for my parents. Last time when I applied for their visa I filled the application form by signin into Visa4UK website. However for this time when I tried to fill the application form by login into Visa4UK it is allowing me to do so but I am getting the below message in the website.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
We are currently updating our online visa application service. You may be able to apply using our new service for visit visa applications if you are applying for a:

- Standard Visitor Visa
- Marriage Visitor Visa
- 1 month Permitted Paid Engagements visa

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Hence I am not sure if I should be using Visa4UK website or the above new service link to fill the long term visitor visa (2 years under standard visitor visa) application form for my parents. Any help or information on this would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Any suggestions I make in the forum are out my personal experience and should not be taken as a legal/professional advise.

Hi RRP

I am in a similar situation as you.

Can you please guide on the approach you took for the visa process of your parents.

Thanks
Paul

Visitor Visa for Parents

Post by rrp » Tue Aug 15, 2017 10:39 pm

Hi,

Hope someone can help here. I was filling the vistor visa application form for my Parents. While filling the form for my Father, I came across the below question.
--------------------
Do you have people who need you for financial support? (Required)
This includes:
children under 18
children over 18 who live with you at home
children who you look after all the time
older relatives who need you for accommodation or other support
------------

My Mother is financially depedent on my Father but in the above list it only says about any Children or some reltives. So I am not sure if I should write 'Yes' or 'No' to this question. Any informatio on this will be helpful.

Thanks.
