Marriage visa

Post by neiljasi » Tue Feb 21, 2017 11:58 am

Hi all I have been with my girl friend for 7 years, I have been over to the Philippines twice and she has been over here. I have looked into getting a Marriage Visa for this year. I have read many time the requirements on the . GOV visa site but come away more confused than when I started. Dose anyone know if she would be able too change from the Marraige visa too a settlement visa so she can stay in Uk after our marraige or will she have to leave after 6 months and then apply for a settlement Visa ?

If you apply for a marriage visitor visa your wife will have to leave after the wedding within the 6 month term and then apply for a spouse settlement visa from her home country.

Assuming you are able to meet the minimum income level of £18,600 p.a, why not apply for a fiance visa and then switch to a spouse visa from within the UK by applying for FLR(M) once you are married?

If you are applying for a fiance or spouse settlement visa, 2 years of co-habitation isn't a requirement. This is only for unmarried partner applications.
