Yes. Case worker will need to know if the applicants have sufficient funds to support themselves and their economic status.
How much funds depends on many factors such as who will pay for the visit, duration of stay, living style etc.. There is no bench mark.
More than these, the applicants will need to showcase their ties to the home country which could be shown by family ties, properties, business, pension etc...
