Tier2 ICT to Tier2 General

Hi All,
I am in UK on tier 2 ICT Short term (since Sept 2017) and wondering if I can move from Tier 2ICT to Tier2 G?
I intend to work as a contractor when I switch to Tier2 G.

Tier 2 G sponsor is a small company which can offer COS for people who have good chance of landing contracts based on their profile.

I am reaching out to the experts in this forum to advise if this is legal and highlight if there any pitfalls or challenges that I should lookout for

Will cooling off period will be applicable if I switch while I am in UK?

I am non EU citizen

I think you should consider one point-
Contracting on a tier 2 visa is expressly forbidden. Knowingly taking a role that is to undertake contracting places you in a very vulnerable position on my fronts. You will be exploitied by the Sponsor, hunted by UKVI and now also liable for prosecution and removal from the UK.
