I'm from an EEA country and a spouse of a British citizen. Got married in 2002. (at the time moved to the UK from the US as I studied there). After 2003 wanted to apply for citizenship but was told at the time wait and see the new rules for the E8 accession countries. (at the time I had no indefinite leave to remain card.) Now I would like to apply for the permanent resident card in order to be able to apply for British citizenship.
Online I found a form to filled in online which seems to be simpler than the one I downloaded and what needs to be filled in as a hard copy. However the hard copy is specifically for spouses of British citizens who want to apply for residency, while the online form looks more general.
My question is is it enough for me to apply on the online form as a spouse who has lived in the country for 15 years and had works as self-employed for the past 10 years?
