Switching from Tier 2 to Tier 4

Post by similiarforce » Thu Mar 02, 2017 9:19 am

I came here in April 2008 as student, studied HND and then 1 year for Bachelors in computer science.

Then I received PSW for 2 years and able to get Tier 2 in 2013 then.

Now I still have around an year to complete to 10 years and a little bit more to complete 5 years for Tier 2.

Can I move to Tier 4 now for masters related to programming/computer science ?

Is there any cap ? as I only had been studying in UK for 3 years and rest of time spent working. Does any cap still applies ?

I tried to understand it from here https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... y_2017.pdf

but people are saying I can't study anymore as I have been in UK for 8 years now

The cap is 5 years on student visa or Tier 4 visas for degree level study.

Don't listen to people. Do your own research.

See http://ukcisa.org.uk/Information--Advic ... layer-3002 which puts the provisions of the immigration rules about this matter into plain English.
